The user interface is clean and simple, so it shouldn't take any time to get used to its controls. It displays a preview of what you are about to record, which can be paused and resumed at any time. You can set the application to record the entire screen, a selected region or a window. While the preview is enabled, you may click a button to start recording right away.

Recordings are stored on a user-defined path. The video preview can be replaced with an integrated explorer window. All you have to do is navigate to a folder to set it as the output location. While browsing through your local folders, you can open any file or move them from one place to another, just like in Windows Explorer. It is also possible to convert selected videos to OGG, MP4 or WebM format.

The general settings menu includes a few useful options. You can set Screencast Capture Lite to capture the mouse cursor, mouse clicks and keystrokes. Additionally, you can choose a default output format and frame rate and set the application to display its conversion options automatically when you stop recording.
